About Steve - My Bio

Here's a little bit of information about me, who I am, and some of my history. The photo album below gives you an idea of some of the things I enjoy in addition to selling Real Estate!

1) Why did you get into real estate?

I was managing a music store and I realized that I had reached the top of my income level. I have always worked well by myself and I never get lost. I saw it as an opportunity to put my gifts to good use.

2) Why do you stay in real estate?

I enjoy people. I enjoy getting to know them, getting to hear of their hopes and dreams. I enjoy helping them through difficult times. My job is never the same because people are not the same. Everyone's unique and their stories are unique.

3) What is one thing you would want people to know about you?

I believe that honesty and integrity are more important than reputation. Your reputation is what people think you are; integrity is what you are.

4) You attended the Conservatory of Music in Kansas City. Do you play professionally now?

No. I still play on occasion for civic events or church. I also direct the Tualatin Valley Community Band an intergenerational group of about 60 musicians. I am not financially compensated for that work. I receive great pleasure and satisfaction creating music together with members of my community, for my community.

5) Tell us about your family.

Melissa and I have been married for over 30 years. She has been my assistant since 1989. She has great ability working with technology, and in fact created this webpage. We have two wonderful daughters and a great son-in-law. Stephanie is at Linfield College in McMinnville and Christine is an elementary school teacher in Vancouver Washington. Her husband David graduated from the Moody Bible Aviation program, and they are preparing to go into Missionary Flight service in a few years.

6) What do you do for fun?

I really enjoy playing music. If I need peace and quiet, I will go kayaking or fishing. I love traveling with Melissa. Doesn't matter if it's a day trip to the coast or two weeks in Hawaii. Oregon has become internationally recognized for its wine and spending a sunny fall afternoon, enjoying the Oregon countryside, wine tasting with good friends is my idea of fun.
