Sherwood is a fast growing community located on Highway 99W between Tigard and Newberg. It is home to protected wetlands and rolling hills of fertile farmlands as well as historic Old Town which consists of antique stores and tea shops. Sherwood maintains it's small-town atmosphere in spite of it's growth in recent years.
Homes in the Sherwood area range from under $200,000 in the downtown town/old town district to well in excess of $1,000,000 for the large estates homes on acreage. The majorities of the homes in Sherwood are newer and fall into the 2500 to 3500 sq ft range with values between $300,000 and $500,000. Sherwood is the home to a large planned community built in seven phases called Woodhaven.
The City of Tigard is located in Washington County, 10 miles southwest of Portland, and is home to approximately 45,500 residents. It is centrally located just minutes from I-5, Highway 217 and Highway 99W. Tigard is home to Washington Square Shopping Mall and a variety of small malls in neighborhoods.
The majority of the homes in Tigard were built in the 1970’s. Good square footage built on 10,000 sq ft lots. The unincorporated area of Bull Mountain abuts Tigard and offers newer and larger homes with smaller lots. Tigard’s average home values range from low $200,000's to $450,000. Bull Mountain homes will range from $300,000 to $700,000.
Located 13 miles south of downtown Portland, Tualatin is at the nexus if I-5, I-205 and the Tualatin River. This community began as an agricultural community of about 750 residents, and today is a suburban home to nearly 25,000 residents. Land use is a mix of residential, commercial, business and manufacturing.
Tualatin is largely a bedroom community with well cared for homes. Values range from mid $200,000's to just under $1,000,000, with the majority of the homes in the $350,000 to $650,000 range. Newer than Tigard, the homes feature many of the amenities that today’s home buyers seek.
Wilsonville is located along I-5 just south of Tualatin, and also on the Willamette River. It is a mix of suburban homes and larger parcels, combined with farm, commercial and business use. It is the former home of the Burns Brothers Truck Stop, which is now the home to Costco, Target and a variety businesses and restaurants.
Wilsonville is similar to Sherwood in that it started as a farming community and has grown dramatically in the past 20 years. An interesting blend of the older bungalow/ranch style home and the newer traditional 2500 plus square foot home on a small lot. The area between Wilsonville and Lake Oswego is known as Stafford and is home to many large estate style homes on 3-10 acre parcels. Values in Wilsonville will range from the low $200,000's to well in excess of $1,000,000 with the majority of the homes in the $300,000 to $500,000 range.
